Festive Eats !

I know it's kinda late in blogging about this but heck, I always believed in better late than never right? Enough said, in my country, Malaysia, last week was a week of fun, eats and play as we have a time called Hari Raya for the Muslims in my country. It's a time where family get together, eat together, and other wonderful things after a month of fasting. The best thing about these two month is that, FOODS!! Never ending of wonderful mouthwatering foods!!

Most of the foods are without doubt, very sinful, and very delicious. I would say it is all a must have. It's undeniably fattening, but hell, which awesome food is not? That's the reason why they are awesome right? The top picture is what we have, called Lemang. It's sticky rice cooked in bamboo and believe me, together with the curry, it's fabulous! I'd never have enough of that.

This one, I believe most knows it. The infamous satay ! Depending on your choice, you may have various type of meat to cook. My personal favorite, beef and chicken! Some even comes with rabbit meat or camel meat. Ohhhh, ostrich meat are delicious too. Juicy and tender! Together with the curry that's mixed with nuts, it's an awesome treat that one can have for dinner and yes, just by eating this alone, you can be actually very full. Price vary but cheapest of chicken meat it cost about RM0.30 per stick. Totally worth it.

The lovely darling here, is the traditional nasi lemak ! The name itself mean fats. But then again, it's delicious! So, who cares! Really, when it comes to this one, it's also another must have during this wonderful season. It's a must have, cannot be missed, MUST EAT meal. I do so insist. You can practically find it everywhere and I personally like those that is served like this. Brings out the tradition in it and yeah, for some reason, it taste better served on banana leaves.

This is like an extra, but also one of my favorite. It's called Ayam Percik. Not sure how to translate this into english but it's chicken meat with some awesome marinated sauce. Seeing it with the sticks, yes, it's meant to be grilled. It's definitely a huge piece, with each stick enough for a person, especially if you're a small eater. Mostly, during the fasting month, this is sold in the market and the aroma of this would overwhelm most ! :D I do miss this the most as I can only find awesome ones during the fasting month. Other than that, it's not so nice.

Of course, another perks of having these sort of festive season here in this country is that, in town, it's usually empty and there's no traffic or whatsoever. We always look forward to such festive seasons as it gives great foods, smooth as white tofu traffic, family gatherings and of course, away from work and classes. It's a get fat and lazy moment, but, everyone loves it.

Rough weekends...

Last weekend, boyfriend and I planned to go out for a hang out session at Quattro with some friends. However, after dinner at Ampang and when we're on the way to Quattro, we had an unfortunate accident, thanks to some idiot driving recklessly even a goddamn-two-lane-no-speeding road. Everyone knows how Jalan Ampang can be packed with cars and there's always a turning here and there to left or right...

We're on the fast lane at first wanting to move over to the slow lane, wanting to cut a REALLY slow driver when we saw a green Saga Aeroback stopped (not flashing the signal light to turn to the right) quite far off in front. Before we manage to move over to the slow lane, a Kelisa sped out of nowhere on the slow lane, cutting us, speeding to the front and before I know it, the car slammed into the Saga. The driver of the Kelisa wanted to avoid but apparently, due to speeding, he couldn't and as a result of the impact, the Kelisa actually ended up covering our lane and boyfriend couldn't stop fast enough and we hit the Kelisa at the back.

I was scared out of my wits and cried actually. I couldn't believe how scared I was till I calmed down in a friend car (yes, our friend was actually following us from behind and thank god they are far behind). After taking pictures and getting details, we went to the Traffic Police Station at KL and boyfriend made his report. What a disastrous weekend it was for all of us...

That's how bad the car got...I actually bruised my shoulder blade due to the seat belt and if it wasn't for it, I don't know what's gonna happen...

It's Really Ugly

Last night after work, when I was on the way down to the restaurant to meet up with 'grandpa' and Joyce for dinner, I can't believe I actually witnessed an accident and it's a hit-the-red-light accident between a car and a bike. Needless to say, the impact was so bad, the passanger for the bike actually flew before landed on the ground. At first, I was stunned and I surprised myself by stopping on the side and started to call 999. I didn't know what got into me and it actually shook me badly. Must be effect from my own previous accident experience.

When I do meet up with 'grandpa' at the restaurant for dinner, 'grandpa' was telling me that he saw the accident site and found that an elderly chinese woman was ganged up by a bunch of indians. Due to what reason, we've no idea as we're not there. From this situation, let's not judge them for being violent or not. Let's judge us Chinese ourselves... For one thing, I do believe in 'grandpa' and what he says is true... The indians are gathered together during the incident and meanwhile, the chinese? Sticking faraway from the group, staying away from all those but watching... Who are we to judge the other races and yet still be so cocky? I'm ashamed to be a chinese myself. It's no surprise that this is the Chinese trend. Chicken, that is... If you notice, during most accident or whatsoever next time, watch around you and you WILL FIND Chinese to stand aside and WATCH while the Indians and Malays are the only ones helping out around the scene...

It kept me thinking that, why can't people just abide the traffic rules and seriously... That damn car was a Myvi and even with a stupid turbo, driving fast is stupid. It's a normal road, not a goddamn track and you watch too much Fast and Furious Movie, you dork. I can't be sure as well if the bikers had their helmet clipped or not but whatever it is, for fuck sakes, those safety things and rules are there for a reason and go with it to stay away from Grim Reaper. If you can't drive, then don't drive and don't give troubles to others... That's why I hate drivers in Malaysia...They need the radio stations to educate them about the laws just like how Hitz.fm are doing ( the 8 gong rules). It would be even more ironic if those advising are those that are going against the rules... Last word, WTF..

Curse The Onlookers

I was very pissed off yesterday when I was on the way back home. After I left from work, I took my usual route from Bangsar to Mont Kiara. It would be through Sprint Highway. However, just after the turning to Sprint Highway, I thought there's a massive traffic in front as I see all the cars keep stopping...

Guess what I see when I reach all the way to the front? A Mercedes-and-Bike-accident, which is very minor. I can't believe all the Oh-I'm-Very-Curious-Bout-What's-Happening attitude from all the lousy Malaysian driver! Cars in front of me was slowing down to look and I was so angry at that ! It wasn't like that accident was a major one like this:

If it's such accidents, then I'd understand...But NOOOOOO...those people just have to slow down and WATCH even though it's none of their business and hey! They NEVER stop to help anyway! SO GET MOVING DAMNIT!! Peoples like that are the cause of our everyday traffic everywhere!!

KTM VS LRT

Each time when I work the morning shift, I'd wake up with a headache. Why ? That's because each morning I'd be expecting the same crap when I'm forced to take the train and the crap will happen... Don't believe me ? Check it out for yourself...

Image003

Here I am each morning waiting for the train...Seeing the crowd like this and no particular place for them to stand in line gets me sick...

Image002

This is the reason why...They'd start acting like a barbarians and start pushing around to get in just to get a blardy seat...

Image001

Makes no differences in whichever station you'd be in for KTM... That's how the people act when they take KTM...

Image000

Surprisingly in LRT stations, you can find boxes like these and we actually need these type of stuff to tell us...STAND IN LINE DAMNIT...AND NOT PUSH AROUND...

But I still see some idiots going around the line, cutting to the front and stood in the middle waiting for the train door to open once it's here... How pathetic can we get ? Needing something simple as this to educate us ? Isn't the radio station's enough ? Advertisements for educate but trust me...It'd never work unless something major happened to the citizens of this country...

Traffics can be the funniest to happen around in KL...If you work in the noon shift, you'd be expecting no traffic at all...Because it's noon damnit and yet I can find traffic around for no particular reasons! WTF?! Learn damnit LEARNNNNN !!! We're living in the 21st Century and we're not back at the Stone Age so stop being a freaking barbarians !!

Sight Seeing During Traffic

It may be an extremely irritating or annoying thing to go through early in the morning each day when I had to go to work. The traffic is definitely bad from 8:00 in the morning and 5:30 in the noon. It's when people go to work time and gets off from work... Another traffic I'm stuck in is so amazing that my car...

Image007

It's been like this for at least 30 minutes this morning ! God ! Unbelievable!

Image009

Just perfect isn't ? Everyone looking at someone thru the window to see if they can catch anyone picking their nose at the moment... I did apparently and it's not a pretty sight as I like to daydream when I'm stuck in the traffic.

Image010

Interesting sight I caught while the car moved. I tried to catch the whole of it but I couldn't as the car is moving. Apparently, it's what some would call, the bone of a truck and you can see it's engine and stuff at the back and there was two of these on the fast lane.

Image008

Anyway, my car came to an end like this after a few minutes of smooth traffic...I'm stuck to another 10 minutes traffic just outside of my goddamn office building *Curse* *Curse* *Curse* *Curse*

Daily Trip To Work

Every single day, I was so bored driving to work, getting stuck in the jam all the way from my house to my office, I will just start to play with my phone camera. Getting annoyed with the traffic finally, I decided to show the world today, How Malaysians drive to work each weekday...

Before going out, my favorite pillow on my lap... One of my Snoopy collectibles =p

Image000

All set and tuned to my favorite radio station... Hitz.fm !! I know my radio looks old... But be grateful once you get a car cuz if once you lost it, you'd feel like you're without a pair of legs...That's how I felt for the last 2 years when my previous car was stolen... *Curse the robbers to hell*

Image006

The traffic finally begins once I set out...This place is like 5 minutes away from my house only... How bad can it be?

Image003

It looks smooth to you doesn't it? That's cuz I can't seem to get the picture the moment the car stops because I'm busy getting the car moving and taking pictures at once... I can be fined if I ever get caught with this... =p

Image002

Finally...The slight relieve before entering into another hell...Here, I was relaxing and smoking and snapping away xD

Image001

Well, the hell after this couldn't be shown as there was too much traffic police around and I wouldn't wanna get caught doing all these. I mean, I had a phone in my hand ! Each day, it takes me approximately around 1 hour to get to my office when in fact, if it doesn't jam like this, I would have reached my office in like, less than 30mins? Think for yourself...
