New Addiction For All !

I took quite long to update my blog. Been getting scolded as I'm addicted to this latest trend of online games, web games. It means, you'd just need the web browser, be it IE or Firefox and you can start playing after registration! I'm playing one of it called Ikariam . Honestly, you should try it out yourself. I've got my boyfriend, my colleagues and a few of my friends to try it and guess what...They are all addicted. Haha!

"On a small island somewhere in the Mediterranean, an ancient civilization arises. Under your leadership an era of wealth and discovery begins." This game is quite similar to Civilization game, minus the religious stuff, of course.

Ika1

An overview of your town, obviously, as you can see, I've built quite a lot of buildings there. The town evolves and it gets prettier as you upgrade your buildings and keep your citizens happy either by providing wine or museum. You start off on an island, randomly chosen by the system, with a random resource. Woods is a must, so it's on each island. But not Marble, Sulphur, Crystal Glass or Wine. Mine happens to have marble.

Ika2

This is an overview of your island. You will be surrounded by other players and it's advised to cooperate among each other instead of pillaging each other. You'd need to upgrade your resources as well as your town building. To upgrade your resources, you'd need to donate woods. So make sure you've enough!

Ika3

That's the overview of the world, showing other island around you with other resources. The main point of this game is, build, colonize, trade (or pillage others), and conquer. That's what I think.

Ika5

An overview of your net income, your citizen's growth rate, their happiness, and how many citizens are assigned to do what. You can find this function when you click on your town hall.

Ika6

An overview of the messages that shows you of your latest activity. You can get this when you click on the Town guy on top. See the four guys? From left: Town, Military, Research and Diplomacy. Military shows you the battle and troop reports. Research shows what's the recent research you've done (that can be done when you have the Academy building and you are advised to build that instead of barracks first once you start the game). As for Diplomacy, it's where people sends you messages.

This game is basically a strategy game. You'd need to strain your brain and try to colonize more and more places so that you'd get more resources and conquer it all. That's what I do... I've gotten my second colony with Wine as its resources. As for my boyfriend, he has his mind on pillaging others...

lol. This game looks like the kind where I would start, get addicted for a while, and then leave my civilization to die when I'm bored. LOL
